Of course when some people think about a "Do It Yourself Swimming Pool," they are under the false assumption that they actually will have to grab a shovel and begin digging. But in reality the pool owner-builder simply takes their custom pool plans to their city building department to apply for a swimming pool permit. Once that task is completed, they begin faxing or emailing a set of plans, provided by Owner Grown Pool Plans, to swimming pool subcontractors for estimates. Once the permit is approved and the DIY swimming pool builder has decided which swimming pool subcontractors they would like to use (usually based on the subcontractors availability and/or price), they pick up a phone and begin scheduling their pool like they would schedule any other appointment. Keep in mind... In addition to their higher fees, our competitors may require you to purchase equipment exclusively through them. Many sell the necessary equipment at their retail, which is typically 40%-100% higher than wholesale. In contrast, we work diligently to save you as much money as possible and we NEVER earn any commissions from equipment sales. We do NOT accept kickbacks from any subcontractors, so we can always remain objective about quality of workmanship. We will guide you to where you can purchase your equipment at wholesale outlets or through plumbing and electrical subcontractors that add only a minimal markup. |
